Audit by Department- Tax authorities {Sec 65}
• Carried by commissioner or any person authorised by him.
• Audit to be completed within 3 months + extendible by 6 months.
• Shall check books of accounts with returns filed.
• Inform about the findings within 30 days after completion of audit to the auditee.
• Closure of Audit on payment of findings
• Initiate recovery for non-payment or short payment or erroneous refund
