CLASSES OF CRIMINAL COURTS :
Following are the different classes of criminal courts:
(1) High Courts;
(2) Courts of Session;
(3) Judicial Magistrates of the first class, and, in any metropolitan area; Metropolitan Magistrates;
(4) Judicial Magistrates of the second class; and
(5) Executive Magistrates;
Besides this, the Courts may also be constituted under any other law. The Supreme Court is also vested with s o m e c r i m i n a l p o w e r s . A r t i c l e 1 3 4 c o n f e r s appellate jurisdiction on the Supreme Court in regard to criminal matters from a High Court in certain cases.
