13A AMENDED 01st April 2018 (A.Y. 2018-19) It is proposed that the political parties have to fulfill the
following additional conditions to avail the benefit of
Section 13A
a) Parties will not received donation of amount of Rs.2000 or more otherwise through by an account payee cheque drawn on a bank or an account payee bank draft or use of electronic clearing system through a bank account or through electoral bondsb) Party furnishes a return of income within theĀ  due date u/s 139(1)

Further, in order to address the concern of anonymity of
the donors, it is proposed to amend the said section to
provide that the political parties shall not be required to
furnish the name and address of the donors who
contribute by way of electoral bonds.

Previously the political parties to avail benefits of
Section 13, were not debarred from accepting donations
in cash and could even avail the exemption even if the
return was not filed.
