Types of Penalties :

There are five types of penalties that have been contemplated under the Companies Act, 1956/2013. They are

1. Fine only

2. Imprisonment or fine

3. Imprisonment or fine or with both

4. Imprisonment and fine and

5. Imprisonment only

Of the above, the offences referred to in 1 to 3 are compoundable and others are not compoundable.
